A Week of Outfits Vol. 14: Weekend Style

Happy Saturday! I usually do these outfit roundups for workwear, but this time wanted to share a few weekend-ready outfits featuring several pieces that are currently on sale. Many of these are my spring – summer staples that have already appeared in numerous posts over the last few months, and will continue to be in rotation through summer.

My striped cardigan jacket is finally ready to ship (was on backorder for ages)! It has yet to ever on sale but the quality and style is worth it in my humble opinion – see my review with a business casual outfit. And I’ve already talked endlessly about these shorts being an awesome foundation piece, paired with either flats or strappy heeled sandals.

This J.Crew tank (on sale!) is one of my must-have summer staples and looks chic paired with all sorts of bottoms. If you’re interested in this comfy rib skirt, check back since the white color has gotten restocked a few times. See my review of it styled with a lace blouse, and note xs is a looser fit on me.

Abercrombie white shorts petite summer style

This easy casual outfit features several favorite Amazon finds, including my adjustable fit boater hat (that my daughter wears regularly), and a modern, sleek pair of $20 neutral flat sandals for everyday wear. You can bookmark my Amazon page here where I regularly add new finds for style, kids, and home things! It looks like the exact color of my hat ribbon is temporarily sold out, but check back for restocks! This Everlane stripe shirt has also been a very longtime staple for work to weekend outfits. I have two colors and it’s perfectly relaxed and lightweight – my mom kept borrowing it on a recent visit!

abercrombie petite black midi dress

See my review of this dress (on clearance!) in this earlier blog post, styled with sandals. It’s one of my favorites this year that friends keep asking to borrow! Simple but feminine and elegant.

These crepe pants were just restocked and I love the drape on them. As mentioned in previous reviews, note they have a slightly crinkled texture to them. In terms of fit, I sized up and the 25 fits really well with no waist gap. The short inseam is still too long for me to wear with sneakers (works best on my 5′ frame with low – mid heels) so I have on my highest platform sneakers and am using this hack. See how these pants look in a different color with a simple, sleek black top.

Hi Jean, do you have any tips or tricks you use to keep the brim of your hats straight? I bought one and it got folded in shipping and now it just folds over on one side and looks silly. Given that your daughter uses it, I figured you must have some way of getting the brim to stay straight!

Hi Annie, I wear these adhesive nippies which are always my go to for any top or dress that has a tricky neckline or is backless. For this particular tank, if you have a sleek cut regular bra with a back that converts to a racerback, that should work as well!
