Fall Staples with J.Crew

petite try on juliette collarless sweater-blazer

I’ve already been raving about this Juliette cardigan in recent posts, and wanted to share a few other fall essentials with J.Crew that are petite-friendly! Each of these pieces are wardrobe staples with some updated elements or in a more modern cut. They’re currently having a fall sale and the cardigan and blouse shown here are both included!

Effortless Sweater Jacket: Juliette Cardigan

Sizes XXS – 3X, 3 colors

As mentioned recently, if I had to recommend just one piece to add to your wardrobe for fall it’d be a longer sweater jacket like this one. My shorter Sophie cardigan has proven to be a closet workhorse over the years, and the length on the Juliette feels more sophisticated and perfect as a finishing piece for pulling together simple outfits.

See it on me for a lounge / WFH outfit, and it also pairs effortlessly over jeans or more professional looking ankle pants for work. This one is a nice medium weight in a warm cotton wool blend. The fit of an xxs is loose on me (I took one size down in the popular Sophie sweater jacket) so consider sizing down if you are petite and don’t want it as oversized.

Updated button down: Puff Sleeve Blouse

Sizes 00 – 24

I thought this shirt was so simple but chic as an update to regular button downs, and it also comes in a classic white version. It’s something I would reach for more casually with jeans and mules, not just for workwear. I do want to point out that the sleeves have a good amount of volume to them (sleeve length of 00 regular fit me well) and torso is a longer and looser fit on a petite frame, almost tunic length on me.

If cozy knits are more your style, I haven’t tried this on yet but I love the braided texture of this cashmere blend sweater and contrast detail at the neckline. The one review mentions it runs short, so could be a petite-friendly option!

Modern cut pants: Slim-Straight Corduroy Pants

Petite, Regular & Tall Sizing, 7 colors

These aren’t the frumpy corduroy pants that you might typically think of from middle school! The slim straight cut on these feels current and flattering, and is a great alternative to denim that can work for teacher outfits or more casual offices.

They have a mid high rise, and the length is also great for this cut of bottoms. Typically I have to cut or cuff my straight jeans, but the fit of these pants are perfectly ankle length on me (5 feet tall). I’m a big fan of winter whites in cooler weather so I went with ivory, but the pale mocha or vintage pine colors were close contenders!

Thank you to J.Crew for partnering on this post.
