Whenever I’m stumped on what to wear, the combo of a good pair of jeans and a blazer never fails. With a cashmere sweater and slim shaft ankle booties for winter, or a simple tank with sandals for warm weather (as shown here). That last outfit is from 2 years ago, and I’d happily repeat the exact same look!
Uniqlo double-breasted blazer
I was grabbing another pair of my must-have fleeced leggings (also in womens) when I noticed this blazer and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an unexpected win (Uniqlo blazers are hit or miss for me), with an effortlessly relaxed feel in a versatile shade of light khaki.
This jacket has that oversized boyfriend fit that I’m looking for, and since it is regular sizing, the sleeves are a little long on me. The fabric is a light/medium weight with a smooth finish and a partial half-lining. A little detail on this jacket that I love is how the buttons are small and subtle. It also has coordinating pants which I enjoy wearing on their own, but probably not as a matching suit.
Other relaxed blazers with petite sizing:
- BR Factory – amazing value! See it on me. I’m shocked that this blazer is still stocked in most sizes and is now on clearance for $29 down from $180 (extra 50% off is applied in cart). The jacket is fully lined with a slightly brushed flannel fabric that might not feel right for summertime, but it’s lightweight enough for Fall through Spring in my opinion.
- J.Crew relaxed fit – 2 colors, in a high quality 4-season fluid fabric and full lining. I have navy and am eyeing the cream on this.
Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jeans (restocked)
The most petite-friendly, universally flattering Levi’s in my humble opinion. These jeans were a runaway favorite when I reviewed them last year, and this exact “space to think” wash was finally restocked in the shorter 26″ inseam! I also have the darker “unstoppable wear” wash which has less stretch.
To add a little interest, I’d style this with a pop of color:
Or, experimenting here with the neck scarf again!
